Against Damascus: Ch 17

We now turn to the north of Judah, to Syria (whose capital is Damascus) and Israel (Ephraim). There is more to this oracle than just judgment; we see both judgment and repentance.

What does this judgment which has come upon Syria and Israel look like?

What is the repentance of the people like? How does the attitude of the people change?

How does the Lord fit into this?

Today’s Prayer Suggestion:
1. Praise God that judgment leads people to look to their Maker and turn to the Holy One of Israel. Give thanks that through trials, hearts can be turned back to worship the true God.
