DAY 28: Isaiah 28

SECTION 3: HUMAN SCHEMES AND GOD’S PLAN

Day 28

Woe to Jerusalem: Ch 28

This chapter opens with woe to Ephraim (v1-13) as we are given a description of what the leaders of the Northern Kingdom are like; of how they have chosen to seek their own pleasure (v7-8) and ignore the words of prophets like Isaiah (v9-10). Yet this chapter is actually directed towards the leaders of Jerusalem (see v14). What is the message that the Lord is trying to get across to the leaders of Jerusalem?

Isaiah tells a parable at the end of this chapter (v23-29). What does this parable show about the way that the Lord works throughout history?

Note: It is worth noting in verse 21 that when the Lord rises to judge his people this is not a normal thing for him. It is a strange work and an alien task.

Today’s Prayer Suggestion:
1. Praise God that His word is firm and trustworthy; thank Him that He lays a foundation that will never be shaken.

2. Pray for follow-up courses that we are running for new Christians. Ask God to use these courses and relationships to build strong foundations in his Word for new believers.

3. Good News Week is coming. Pray for your 3!
