The Darkness Closes In: Ch 8

Chapter 8 follows on from the encounter between Isaiah and Ahaz, speaking figuratively about what is happening in Judah.

What picture do we get with regards to what is coming for the people of Judah in v1-10?

In verse 11, Isaiah is told “not to follow the way of this people”. What will it be like for this people?

What is the contrast drawn between Isaiah and his disciples compared to the rest of the people (v16-22)?

Today’s Prayer Suggestion:

1. Praise God that He is our refuge and sanctuary even when darkness surrounds us. Give thanks that we can wait for the Lord and put our hope in Him when others stumble.

2. Pray for the Frasers: Give thanks for Cece and Freddy, and pray for gospel-shaped parenting.
