The Spirit and the Sinful Nature - Galatians 5:16-21

The Galatians received the Spirit when they became Christians (3:2, 5, 14; 14:6). How does the Spirit conflict with desires of the sinful nature or ‘flesh’ (ESV) (5:16-17)?

What are the acts of the sinful nature? Do any particularly stand out as things you urgently need to stop doing?

1. After reading today’s passage, what’s one thing you can praise God for? What does it prompt you to ask Him for in prayer?

3. Pray that our whole church would continue to grow in love for the lost — and in confidence that the gospel is God’s power to save.
