Jerusalem Under Threat: Ch 36

This middle section of Isaiah turns to what was actually happening in Judah at the time of Isaiah’s preaching. We are placed right in the middle of the action when Sennacherib is laying siege to Jerusalem and Egypt is nowhere to be found to support Jerusalem.

What parts of the speech given by the commander of the Assyrian army are true?

How is this speech deceptive? How has the truth been twisted by the commander to try and convince the Jews to surrender?
