Ann Street Presbyterian Church Craft Group

WELCOME TO THE CRAFT GROUP

Church Craft Group
Last year we knitted dozens and dozens of scarves and beanies and various other items for the Leprosy Mission, with some wool kindly donated to us.  The Leprosy Mission gave these items to Leprosy patients in 3rd world countries.  At the end of the year we visited their headquarters at Chermside and had a lovely morning learning about their work and buying up craft pieces, made by Leprosy patients, from other parts of the world, for unique Christmas gifts.  Afterwards we had lunch together at the Coffee Club at Chermside.

This year we have a new project.

We are attempting to knit as many tiny jumpers as we can for AIDS affected babies born in Africa.  Many babies and children in Africa have parents with AIDS and some of these babies are sent home from hospital wrapped in newspaper for warmth.  They need help!  At the request of Rotary Overseas we have joined other women in Australia in this project.

This is the knitting pattern.

Would you like to help too?  You can, by joining us on the first Monday of each month at 9.30am in the Board Room at Ann Street Church.  This group is not exclusively "Presbyterian".

If that is not possible, or convenient, you could help by knitting at home or donating wool.  We would love to hear from you.
